If your marriage was registered in one of the five boroughs of New York City (Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island) before 1996, it will be printed on legal size pager and will include a copy of the marriage license and the actual marriage certificate. The NYC Marriage Bureau keeps these documents on film. These marriage certificates are also considered extended certified copies and have an original signature of the Acting City Clerk on the back. They are acceptable for the legalization by an apostille or foreign embassy
