Document legalization for Vietnam
Do you need your U.S. documents legalized for use in Vietnam?
Vietnam is not a member of the Apostille Convention, this is why all documents destined for that country must be legalized (authenticated) by the Embassy of Vietnam. We provide fast and reliable document legalization services for Vietnam taking care of all legalization steps, including the certification by the Secretary of State, and the embassy level.
Common PERSONAL documents we legalize for Vietnam in all 50 U.S. States are:
Birth certificates issued by state, county, city/town vital records offices. Legalization requirements differ from state to state. For example, in the State of VA, the birth certificate must be issued within the last 12 months. In the State of New Hampshire it must be notarized, etc. It is important to make sure the birth certificate will be eligible for the legalization before you submit the document to the Secretary of State.
Marriage certificates issued on the state county, city or town level. Not all marriage certificates can be legalized. We strongly recommend to email a copy of the marriage certificate for a free evaluation before it is submitted for legalization
Death certificates issued in all 50 U.S. states. These certificates need to be certified by the vital recods office. Notarized copies are not acceptable. Different states have different requirements for death certificates that are intended to be submitted in foreign countries.
Divorce judgments and divorce certificates issued by the courts and by vital records offices in all 50 U.S. states. The divorce judgements must be signed by certain officials to be eligible for legalization. We will check if the name of the official who signed the divorce judgment is on file with the respective Secretary of State. In many cases we are able to obtain a certified copy of the divorce judgment, and then have it legalized.
Single status affidavits (Free to Marry certificates, certificates of no impediment), notarized by U.S. notaries. Some states (e.g. New Jersey, Florida, etc.) issue an official single status statement. We also have many country-specific forms of Single Status affidavits. Please contact us and we will email it to you for free.
Background checks issued by the FBI, on a state level, and by local police departments. In some states we can obtain a background check for you if it is not fingerprint based (e.g. New York)
Personal powers of attorney and authorization letters notarized by notaries public (including remotely notarized documents). We check if the notarization has been done properly and will be acceptable to the state authorities for legalization. When possible, we check if notariy has an active status.
Copies of passports and IDs. Depending on the state, it can be an attested copy (notarized as a copy by a notary public). In other state notaries are not allowed to certify copies of the document and a different procedure is required. We will advise the best option if you need a legalized copy of your U.S. passport ot ID.
